AcuDestress is a life-altering energy-shifting training session, by which, following one month of treatment, non-meditators fast track to mindfulness, then learn neuroplasticity, all initiated/sustained/modulated by AcuDetox ear acupuncture. Many recipients report that they become able, subsequently, to manage stress without psychotherapy and some are able to come off psychoactive medication.

  1. QUESTION: Who is Dr. Michael O. Smith M.D., D.Ac.  and what was his contribution to AcuDestress?

  2. ANSWER: Dr. Smith championed the use of one of the most remarkable acupuncture protocols used today since 1974 when he successfully replaced methadone in the hospital’s heroin treatment program with ear acupuncture learned from neurosurgeon H. L. Wen.  The points had originally been used for anaesthesia to allow surgery on patients who were awake. Dr. Wen had discovered that they also ablated substance addiction within 15 closely-congregated treatments in most patients.
  3. When Dr. Smith was invited to come to Toronto so that his work (which came to be called AcuDetox) would spread to Ontario, he encouraged Dr. Bailey among others to pioneer it’s adaptation to stress management. Dr. Smith expanded his organization (NADA)‘s mandate into stress management by opening the doors of New York City’s LIncoln Hospital to all comers, thus successfully treating the mass trauma of the World Trade Center disaster after Sept 11th 2001. It was quite inspiring!
